Abstract

A reflection written by two high school juniors all about the All African People's Conference held in Accra, Ghana, 1958, through the lens of a roleplaying game of the representatives in the conference. We share our testimonies of our experienence while providing context on the actual event. Throughout the paper we give insight into our atypical experince of learning about a challneging concept through a game created by our teacher. We stress the importance of creative activities, allowing for people to retain critical information and not just memorizing the facts for a test. Our experience makes clear the benefits of learning and understanding history through games and the skills it allows students to not only devlop, but apply through the process as well.
